Another successful week of marathon training! Well, it will be successful once I get this 12 miler out of the way. I was supposed to wake up early to run before heading to the lake for the day but the snooze button won. Oh well- you win some, you lose some. I wouldn’t necessarily say I lost since I had an awesome day on the water! To make up for missing today’s long run, my plan is to run 12 miles tomorrow after work instead of going to yoga. I thought about heading to the gym tonight but did a little too much snacking earlier and I don’t think my stomach will appreciate 12 dreadmill miles right now 🙂
Hartford Marathon – Week 2
Monday [7/11] – BBG Week 1 Legs
Tuesday [7/12] – 5 miles w/20 min tempo + ab asanas
Wednesday [7/13] – 6 easy miles + ab asanas
Thursday [7/14] – 4.5 miles + 7×25 sec hill sprintsFriday [7/15] – Rest Day!
Saturday [7/16] – 5 easy miles + ab asanas
Sunday [7/17] – 12 miles
TOTAL MILEAGE = 32.5 miles (once I run 12 tomorrow)
My current dilemma- should I continue to do BBG? I kinda had a feeling this was going to happen. I was planning on completing this strength training program along with my marathon training but I don’t know if I will be able to keep up with it as my milage increases. I was so sore all week because of leg day on Monday and didn’t the workouts for the rest of the week. I know that as I continue I will get stronger and hopefully not as sore but I still don’t know what to do. I’m thinking that maybe I can make leg day on Wednesday’s and do Abs/Arms on Monday’s instead? That way it’s not the day after my long run & I will have a few days before my next one. I just don’t know! I really really want to finish BBG through though!
Any advice for my BBG dilemma?
