Just like that, the first week of training for The Hartford Marathon is in the books! I’m feeling really good & really excited about where I’m at. With a solid base and some serious motivation, I can see a PR in my future 🙂 13 more weeks until race day!
Hartford Marathon – Week 1
Monday [7/4] – was supposed to XT.. we can pretend playing with Bruin in the lake all day counts, right?
Tuesday [7/5] – 5 miles w/15 min tempo + 4×1 min planks
Wednesday [7/6] – 6 miles + 4×1 min planks
Thursday [7/7] – 4 miles + 7×25 sec hills @ 90% effort + ab asanas
Friday [7/8] – Rest Day but I did do some yoga at home after work.
Saturday [7/9] – 7 easy miles + restorative yoga
Sunday [7/10] – Long Run Sunday! I was supposed to run 10 miles but ran 8 dreadmill miles instead.. I just couldn’t stand running on there anymore + ab asanas (post long run eats below, so yum!)
TOTAL MILEAGE = 31.2 miles
With the boyfriend gone to a softball tournament & absolutely no plans, I spent the weekend getting my life together and loved every single minute of it. I swear this was the most productive weekend of my entire life. This meant a surprise brunch with my cousin & his girlfriend, cleaning the entire apartment, working on the blog, studying for my PT cert, playing with Bruin, running & yoga, meal planning & grocery shopping, reading, learning how to use my camera, and so much more. Almost everything is crossed off my to do list. I’m feeling very accomplished 🙂
