Just checking in to let y’all know that I finished The Lake Placid Marathon today! State #5 in the books 🙂 It’s funny going from racing VCM 2 weeks ago in extreme heat to racing LPM today in 45 degrees & rain. I guess funny isn’t the right word I’m looking for.. maybe I mean strange! Both races were pretty brutal. A full race recap will be up on Wednesday so stay tuned!
I got home from Lake Placid a little while ago and I’m already in bed snuggling with my puppy bear. No shame, I earned it. I’m excited to not set an alarm for tomorrow since I’ll be working from home. Plus, I usually get up super early to run (& do my morning things) buttttt that’s definitely not happening tomorrow. AKA waking up at 7:59 if my body and puppy let me. This also means no meal prepping tonight since I don’t really need it for tomorrow. Plus, I’m way too beat to spend an hour cooking right now. It took me a solid 15 minutes to get up & toast an english muffin.
The next few days will consist of lots of stretching & lots of foam rolling. I’m planning on running again by Thursday, hopefully, but we will see how everything goes. I always question myself why I run marathons when it comes to mile 18 or so in a race but then I cross the finish line and remember why.
Bill Rodgers said it best- “the marathon can humble you.”
